Official
Guide to Programming With Cgi.Pm by Lincoln Stein (ISBN:
0471247448). If you know anything about Perl, and you write
CGI, you'll love Stein's guide. Maybe. It depends on what
you need to do with CGI.pm. The book introduces CGI.pm via
a number of scripts that illustrate how to accomplish various
simple as well as advanced tasks (e.g., multipage forms, maintaining
state, and the like). Before springing for this book, first
check out Lincoln Stein's on-line CGI.pm
- a Perl5 CGI Library. This well written FAQ may well
contain everything you need to know about CGI.pm. without
putting a dent in your wallet. I class this book a maybe have.

MySQL
and mSQL (Nutshell Series) by Randy Jay Yarger, George
Reese, Tim King. This well written volume contains chapters
on implementing the Perl DBI (Python and PHP, too) to connect
with the popular MySQL and mSQL databases. A brief overview,
yet accessible, tutorial of relational database design is
also included. A very handy book if you are wading into connecting
your web site with a database backend. |

Dreamweaver
2 Bible by Joseph W. Lowery. Yes, Dreamweaver comes
with a pretty decent manual by contemporary standards. Heck,
it is even printed and bound. A real pleasure in this age
of PDF format manuals. But, it the Dreamweaver manual is too
brief and breezy for my tastes, often leaving me wondering
exactly what certain things did. Lowery provides full explanation
of every Dreamweaver feature. Most features are illustrated,
too. If you use Dreamweaver to build static web pages, this
book is a worthy addition to your reference shelf. (Comments
